Giving a review on Michael Adams' book is like me critiquing Jimmy Carter on humility. It's just something that doesn't need to be done because it speaks for itself. Adams has a wicked-awesome sense of humor that I didn't fully catch (or maybe I still haven't caught) until the second reading. His characters are complex, flawed, and very real. I swear he and I knew some of the same people. Even though the story an allegory to an ancient work, Adams' book stands alone without that irritating T.S. Elliot-ish overuse of symbolism and allusion. Check it out; it's awesome.
