Previously published as The Shadow Walker by W. R. Hunt & Stephen M. Truax.

The world is starving. Victor Gervasio knows more about why than he has ever admitted.

After rescuing Dante from the horsemen, Victor can no longer keep his past buried. Years earlier, a violent encounter drew him into the orbit of Peter Krieg-and toward a secret whose consequences would reach far beyond either of them.

Now that past has found him again.

The man known as the Baron is waiting, winter is closing in, and the people Victor once trusted may be the brothers' best hope of survival-or the greatest threat they face.

But Dante has no intention of following Victor blindly. As old loyalties resurface and Victor is forced to confront what he knows about the catastrophe that destroyed their world, the brothers must decide whom they can trust, what they are willing to sacrifice, and whether the bond between them is strong enough to survive what comes next.

Some secrets explain how the world ended. Others decide what comes next.
