A Wonderful Escape!

What fun! This story is like a mini vacation. I loved Jack and Lina - a really good couple. The attraction was immediate and grew and grew. The black/white issue was also tastefully addressed to the point that color became irrelevant - this story was a bout a man and a woman in love. Ms. Hubbard does a wonderful job of incorporating Darwin Island as a background theme: I could feel the sun, hear the waves and see the wonderful colors of this tropical paradise. Read this book - you can too!

This Story Takes You to Paradise and Back!

Do you want to go to some place special but can't afford the travel time or ticket? The next best thing to do is pick up Crystal Hubbard's BLAME IT ON PARADISE. It's sure to take you to paradise and back. Author Hubbard's storytelling skills carried me away like a magic carpet to two intriguing islands, one in the South Pacific and the other in New England. The story has all the right ingredients for a wonderful romance and there are many things I loved about BLAME IT ON PARADISE. I loved the storyline: A workaholic attorney unexpectedly finds love with an island woman, who turns out to be more that what she seems. He ultimately learns there's more to life than making money. I loved all the characters, especially the heroine: Lina is my kind of female lead - a beautiful black woman with a multicultural background; she's smart, self-sufficient, and hard working with a good sense of humor. Good-looking, self-made, intelligent with a go-for-what-he-wants attitude, Jack is the type of hero I'd like to meet. I loved the setting: Darwin, a fictional South Pacific island and Nahant Island, a real place in New England. I loved the love scenes: They were hot and passionate. I loved that this was a good read: The dialog is quick and entertaining. Once I picked up the book, I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what was happening to Lina and Jack - my two new favorite romance characters. I loved that two of my all-time favorite romance characters, Lucas and Miranda from CRUSH, Hubbard's previous book, are mentioned in the story. Even after I finished reading and closed the book, Lina and Jack's story continued to swim around in my head. It left me with a smile on my face and a really good feeling in my heart. I blame it on paradise. Caroline Addison

Great story, lots of fun to read

Jackson DeVoy is a successful attorney who thinks that money is the key to a happy future but when he has to go to a South Pacific island to get the rights to a weight loss product for his company he gets a whole lot more than he bargained for. He meets Lina, a native woman who touches his body and his heart so deeply that he can't forget about her when he goes back to Boston. One thing leads to another and when he meets up with Lina again he gets a real shock. I loved the imagery and the writing in this book and I also loved the way the author ilustrated the theme of opposites attract. Jack is fair, Lina is dark. Jack comes from a big city, Lina is from a small island. Lina cherishes family and friends, Jack cherishes his investment portfolio. Lina is selfless, Jack cares mostly about himself. The locations are pictures of opposites too and I liked seeing the contrast between them. The journey these two characters make to finding love and happiness is a beautiful one and I enjoyed it so much. Crush was my first book by this author and I'm glad that this one is just as good.

Crystal Hubbard pens great romance

If you loved Crush you will enjoy Blame it On Paradise just as much. Ms. Hubbard pens a great interracial love story with beautiful island scenery and a hero and heroine that you can't help but love. The sex scenes are hot but the love is also deep and real. I enjoyed reading about Lina and Jackson and how they fought their way through their pasts to find true love. The storyline is full of humor and the ending made me warm all over. Great job Ms. Hubbard, I look forward to your next book.

Taking Time to Smell the Roses Jackson DeVoy grew up to be a very determined and successful attorney as a result of his single-minded focus. His life has always been about the almighty dollar. His goal is more money, more things, more status and perhaps a wife at some point along the way. His employer, Coyle-Wexler Pharmaceuticals, considers him to be their "go to man." So sending him to the South Pacific to obtain the rights to a plant that could revolutionize the diet industry is a task made for Jackson. His mission is to locate the renowned and elusive J. T. Marchand and get the rights before their competitors get a whiff of what's going on. Jackson arrives on Darwin Island focused on delivering the goods to Coyle-Wexler, but instead, he meets an ebony beauty named Lina who completely mesmerizes him. Unable to connect with the mysterious Marchand, Jackson enjoys the islands sites, which includes Lina. He loses track of time and control of the mission. Unfortunately, his boss decides it's time to send in a second person and get Jackson back to the states quickly. His abrupt departure leaves both him and Lina in a quandary over their true feelings for one another. Will they ever find one another again? And, if they do, will they be able to repair the damage already done and build on what they found on Darwin? Is either of their worlds ready for them? In BLAME IT ON PARADISE, Crystal Hubbard takes readers on an amazing journey to the South Pacific where love blossoms in a community where simplicity is a way of life. Hubbard weaves a beautiful love story around a plant, an island and two opposing views of the world. She throws in a bit of interracial dating and big business dealings to give the story an educational flavor as well. Hubbard is an outstanding storyteller. Her character development and use of imagery is very good. When all was said and done, I felt like I'd spent a few weeks in the South Pacific, rather than a few hours on my chaise lounge.
