Blades Against The Dark

By Fernando L. Leathers Jr

A blacksmith's son. A kingdom that doesn't know it needs him yet. A darkness older than the throne itself.

Alexzander has spent his whole life in the shadow of Vandoria Castle, swinging a sword he has no right to carry, dreaming of a life his birth was never meant to allow. When a chance encounter thrusts him into training as a squire, he finds himself standing beside people who will become the truest family he's ever known - Vosric, steady and loyal; Petra, sharp as the blade she wields; Renn, whose humor hides a fierce heart.

But peace never lasts long in Vandoria.

Deep in the Whispering Woods, something ancient has begun to stir - and a sorcerer's ambition is reaching for a power that predates the kingdom itself. As old secrets buried beneath Karthollow's ruins claw their way back into the light, Alexzander and his companions are drawn into a war they never trained for, against an enemy who remembers what the world has long since forgotten.

Friendship will be tested. Trust will be broken and rebuilt. And a boy who wanted nothing more than to matter will discover that destiny rarely asks permission before it comes calling.

Blades Against the Dark is Book One of The Vandoria Chronicles - a sweeping fantasy trilogy of found family, hard-won courage, and the price of standing against the dark, for readers who love epic quests, loyal companions, and heroes forged rather than born.
