Black Western Pioneers: Coloring Book

This coloring book was created for all ethnicities and ages. The goal is for people around the world to enjoy black art and educate them on black history in a creative way. Visual diversity matters. Black history is world history. Black cowboys and cowgirls made their mark on American soil during the nineteenth and twentieth century. Many of them were slaves. However, others were free and got their start in Texas and Mexico. A lot of them worked on western farms and ranches as wranglers, ropers, trail riders, horse breakers, cattle rustlers, herders, bullfighters, cooks, etc. Caucasian men were called cowhands, while African American men were originally called cowboys. The name "cowboy" was used as a derogatory name. They faced a lot of discrimination. Like most cowboys, they lived a hard and dangerous life. Let's continue to honor these brave men and women who helped build this great nation. Spread love and positivity by appreciating black western images. It's all in good fun.
