Black Sound

By Glen Hatcher

They found more than gold. Now someone wants them silenced.

Kate and Luke Morrison came to New Zealand's Marlborough Sounds for six weeks of freedom, adventure and a chance to enjoy life together again.

Their newly inherited launch, Second Wind, offers everything they could want: sheltered bays, beautiful coastlines and some of the country's most remarkable diving waters.

Then an ordinary dive changes everything.

Beneath the green water, they discover the remains of an old shipwreck, a gold coin and a mysterious modern case that should never have been there.

The case belongs to a diver who disappeared years earlier.

What begins as an exciting search for a lost ship soon draws them into a mystery involving hidden gold, a missing man and people who have spent years protecting dangerous secrets.

As Kate and Luke explore isolated inlets and underwater passages, they begin to realise that someone is watching their every move.

And beneath the surface, where visibility can disappear in seconds and help is a long way away, danger can come from more than one direction.

With their holiday turning into a fight for survival, they must decide how far they're prepared to go for the truth, and what they're willing to risk for each other.

Set among the spectacular waterways of the Marlborough Sounds, Black Sound is a gripping standalone maritime adventure thriller filled with shipwrecks, diving, hidden treasure, suspense and unforgettable characters.

A story of discovery, danger and the secrets people will do anything to keep buried.
