We have all heard of Black academic under-achievement. We have also all heard that Black people should look to other non-White minorities, like Indian and Chinese students, to see how high-achievement can be reached. Few of us have heard that there are Black groups that are also high-achieving to a similar degree. This book examines the details of such cases. It makes more sense to look to those Black groups to model ourselves after because their economic and environmental circumstances are more similar to our own. If we follow this path Black students can achieve with their minds to the same degree as what they are doing in sports.
