Black Heart

By MR Ken Kirwan

Black Heart is a dark, gripping psychological crime thriller set in Dublin, where Detective Michael Hunter finds himself at the centre of an investigation into a series of brutal murders. Each victim appears to be connected by a hidden past of abuse, corruption, and institutional cover-ups stretching back decades. As the body count rises and a mysterious black heart symbol is left at every crime scene, the city is gripped by fear while Detective Laura Mills and her team race to uncover the identity of a killer who seems to be delivering a twisted form of justice.

As the investigation deepens, long-buried secrets begin to surface about a shadowy organisation known only as The Programme - a system that preyed upon vulnerable children and protected powerful figures for years. The victims are not chosen at random; each one holds a piece of a much larger conspiracy. While the public begins to view the killer as a vigilante targeting untouchable predators, Laura Mills becomes increasingly convinced that someone within the investigation knows more than they are revealing.

Black Heart is a tense and emotionally charged story about trauma, revenge, and the thin line between justice and vengeance. Filled with shocking twists, morally complex characters, and a chilling conspiracy that reaches the highest levels of power, the novel explores what happens when the victims of the past refuse to remain silent. As the truth behind The Programme emerges, the hunt for a killer becomes a battle for the soul of everyone involved - and reveals that some monsters are created, not born.
