Hooked-ish!

I just wasn't moved. Idk what Jayne A. was trying to tell "black girls", but I missed it. The character that carried this book was Ms. Gretchen!!!!! She really sold me that this series was worth sticking with. Boy was I wrong. The initial book (BGMDE) was just OK. I was excited about the series which is why I kept reading. I liked the storyline around death and how that was handled so closely. BUT it was strange to see it come and go in the book. I liked that we got a real introduction to Tabby and what kind of woman she was. But those broken relationships should've been dived into deeper. That's why she is so all over the place with Marc. Marc is a pill to, I did like how Tab went tf off on home. It was good for readers to see the depth of Black Girls Exhaustion for real. (Laid out plainly). Worth reading but i would stop at book 2.

Relatable!

This book is meant for a black girl to read.I truly appreciate the diversity of black women that was represented and their journeys! But nevertheless this book had punching the air yelling “sis what and why?!??? The main character is so hopelessly romantic and stubborn at the same time but I adore her nevertheless!

She is us!

This book is a page turner. I swear there are so many points in the book that I saw myself in some of the characters, but if it wasn’t me then I saw someone I know in the characters. This book is real and what we are dealing with. I love it. My girlfriends and I are reading it for our book club and we have dad some amazing convos about it! Must read.
