Miriam isn't the powerful seer. She isn't the one with strange abilities... ...that's her husband, Quentin Black. Heck, Miri isn't even a full-blood. So what are these hyper-realistic dreams she keeps having? And why does she keep disappearing, pretty much every time she falls asleep - and increasingly, even when she isn't asleep? Where does she go that Black can't feel or find her, when he can ALWAYS feel and find her? When Miri's dreams start following her back to the real world, scaring the hell out of her husband, military-trained seer, Quentin Black, he decides to take matters into his own hands and follow her in, whatever it takes. AUTHOR'S NOTE: This started off as a novella that I wrote for an anthology, and originally was meant to be a side story to the main series. Since what happens in the book ends up affecting a lot of later plot-lines, however, I ended up incorporating it into the main series so people wouldn't be confused as to the timeline of events (a lot of people don't read the side stories, frankly). In the process, it was expanded to novel length, but it's still shorter than most of the main series books, and somewhat different in terms of content / complexity. I had a lot of fun writing it, though, and if you read the Bridge and Sword books, I think you'll enjoy the crossover THE QUENTIN BLACK SERIES encompasses a number of dark, gritty paranormal mystery arcs with science fiction elements, starring brilliant and mysterious Quentin Black and forensic psychologist Miriam Fox. For fans of realistic paranormal mysteries with romance elements, the series spans continents and dimensions as Black solves crimes, takes on other races and tries to keep his and Miri's true identities secret to keep them both alive.
