In this volume, Kelli continues to search for her true self. She explores her new sexuality and decides to finally give into it, with Susan. Susan, initially enamored with the Big Apple, begins to feel insecure. Kelli seems to be living a life, that Susan resents. Spending less and less time together, Susan decides to find out once and for all, if she's a lesbian or simply bisexual. Her test will be with Johnny Condon, (from Volume I.) She shares her thoughts on the matter with Kelli; and is surprised that Kelli seems agreeable to the liaison. Kelli feels that one last fling with the man Susan wants, will reveal once and for all if Susan is lesbian. Meanwhile, Kelli resents it, but doesn't let on to Susan. Instead, she decides to go do shots at O'Malley's, a local Irish Pub. Kelli, who is not much of a drinker, does several shots of hard liquor. She wakes up the next morning, lying naked on her stomach - in a cheap motel. She finds her clothing in a corner, ripped and in disarray. She goes to the bathroom to give herself a vaginal examination. She rushes to find her cell phone and calls Hank, her private investigator and says: "I need your help. I think I've been raped." Come inside and see what happens next.
