Unhappy with early retirement, Elaine and Efren Sandoval travel to Suddenly, Montana, to investigate purchasing a hardware store. After an overnight stay at a B and B, Elaine is entranced when observing a painting of a forest cabin. Elaine, an accomplished artist, finds searching for the cabin becoming an obsession. However, two young women artists, Jenny and Spring, have a similar attraction with the painting and want to find the cabin. David Drum befriends Samuel Duggar, the surviving husband of the creator of the painting, and discovers the women have been looking for the cabin in the wrong place. Sworn to secrecy about locating the structure, can David help Jenny, his artist girlfriend, find the cabin?
