Great book, surprise ending

This is a very well-written book, a detailed glimpse into the lives of Southern tobacco farm workers. Their struggles are highlighted through the main character, a young girl who has to work in the tobacco farms. An emotionally stirring book. The ending was a huge surprise and provides the reader with much to ponder. Mrs. Theuring is a talented new author!
