Anna and Lisa Gu, talented award winning authors and illustrators, are identical twins born in Shanghai, China, in 2008 and moved to TX in 2014. As animal lovers, they started writing chapter books about animals in third grade. They won four awards from 2023 Scholastic Writing Competition, including two Silver Key awards and two Honorable Mention awards. Anna wrote this book in third grade, and drew the cover picture and all the 31 illustrations. Inspired by the two dogs that they dog-sat for three days, the eight years old twin authors picked one dog each and made up fascinating stories using their imaginations. Biscuit, as a stray dog with a big attitude, took a lot of adventures while playing with his friends, fighting with cats, finding food from dumpster, eating at restaurants, running into a library, facing a monster, getting caught and escaping, etc., and finally getting to take a break. A short introduction from Dr. Sandra Ninemire: Anna and Lisa were in third grade when they wrote these delightful books at home. I was their teacher, and our class was surprised and awed when they brought them to school to share with their classmates. We were amazed by the adventures of Biscuit and Bubbles and the girls' charming illustrations. The books remind us of the powerful influence of a childhood pet--and Anna and Lisa have taken that experience to the next level in their imaginations! I heartily recommend the two books to reluctant readers and to anyone who enjoys a good animal story! Congratulations, Anna and Lisa, on publishing your stories online to a wider audience and for donating the proceeds to a worthy cause. I know your readers will enjoy these special stories! Sandra Ninemire, Ph.D.
