This 36-week study of biology begins with an overview of chemistry while opening a deeper understanding of the living things that God created. The course moves through the nature of cells, ecosystems, biomes, the genetic code, plant and animal taxonomies, and more.
Biology from a biblical worldview. How refreshing to study life with the perspective that life is created and sustained by God - the Life Giver! I wish that was an option when I was in high school. The focus of the course is to study the many life forms God has created and how they relate to one another. The teacher guide contains the grading sheet, worksheets, daily schedule, supply list, tests, quizzes, and answer keys needed to complete this course. 25 labs are included. When the suggested schedule is followed, one lesson will be completed - along with a lab - each week, with intermittent exams throughout the course. The week of the exam, 4 days are scheduled for review before the exam is scheduled for completion, teaching the student appropriate study techniques. Per the course’s self-description, it requires vigorous reading. Worksheet questions are designed for not only memory recall but also reasoning skills, so encouragement from the teacher to the student may be required for completion of these assignments. Counts as 1 high school credit with lab. An optional book Biology Through a Microscope can be used alongside which has full color microscopic images so a microscope would not be needed to complete the labs. Even though there is a lot of reading in the student book, the pages are broken up with colorful pictures and blocks of written information.
