Bigfoot: a Novel by Nan McKenzie

Young widow Zoe Zahn moves with her dog Wizard into a secluded cabin in the Montana wilderness. Her lonely existence gets a terrifying wake-up call when Bigfoot arrives! The beast is struck and pinned by a fallen tree and Zoe wades through heavy snow to release him. Bigfoot runs off, but comes back and kidnaps her!Bigfoot takes Zoe to his mountain cave. Somehow these two lonely souls find rapport without language, and she realizes that he won't hurt her. Now all she has to do is save him from a forest ranger and all the crazies in the government, the media, and those who would exploit or murder the giant. Fortunately, the tiny heroine is loaded with a large share of courageous determination. The book is a heart-warming exciting adventure, with plenty of humor. Bigfoot is huge, stinky, furry, and scary, and he might be a little sweet on Zoe. So is Sam Hill, the handsome forest ranger. Zoe also has to contend with typical Montana weather, an April snowstorm that buries the cabin, days of rain, and a huge flood. Throw in bad guys, a mountain cabin that soars over Wildman Creek, Zoe's beautiful friend Darcy, and you have an unbeatable story.
