a surefire mystery

This is a great book. I think B.J. Daniels is one of the best talents in romance right now. I make sure I catch all her books and this was certainly no dissapointment. She can blend beautifull larger than life settings and edge of your seat suspense while keeping her characters realistic. I would highly recomend this book and do yourself a favor: pick up "Shadow Lake" if you like a good book.

DECEIVING COVER -- WHERE IS THE CATTLE?

Dillon Savage has been in prison for four years for cattle rustling. Cattle inspector Jacklyn Wilde had put him there. After his audacious kiss! Now they lingered in each other's mind. Jack was convinced that Savage was running the rustling gang from Prison. She got her boss, Stanton to agree to an early release. Use a rustler to catch a rustler. This gang was just too slick, it had all the earmarks of Savage. Dillon was not going to do anything to put himself back in Prison, he just wasn't going to help much. His thirst for justice and revenge was just not going to be a factor in putting him back. So he had no desire to confront Shane Waters of the W Bar ranch. The man who had bought up most of the ranches hereabouts. An old girlfriend, Morgan Landers just might make another play for Dillon except she seems to be involved with Nate Waters. But would that stop her? Halsey Waters death mixed up quite a number of lives in Lewistown, Montana. Who was Reda Harper blackmailing? How many secrets did she know? Dillon was sure that the rustling was not about cattle. But how could he convince Jack when she so obviously believed him to be the leader. No trust there. And then the old gang showed up. And what was Sheriff Caude McCray's agenda? Excellent characters - great plot - deep intrigue - well paced. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED -m --------- Do the "Whitehorse" books blend in?
