HOLY SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!

Its just a reprint of the New Testament of the Bible........OR IS IT? I saw the publisher of the book on The Colbert Report and was intrigued by his concept...to take one of the most published books in history and turn it into a coffeetable book with contemporary photo-illustrations with captions from Biblical passages. Of course, the photos paired with the Bible text create an actual COMMENTARY on modern life......a critique of sorts. I found this a very creative way to bring the Bible into modern day relevance as a philosophical tome. It is something no American publisher has dared to do....it takes a European to have the guts to do it! (Swedish) On my coffeetable it has drawn attention and created fascinating dialog about what the Bible's meaning is. Try it, you will enjoy it!

Great Ilumination

I love this book! I read the review in the LA Times and thought this would be a new twist. After purchasing 2 copies (one was a gift), I shared it with co-workers who immediatly fell in love. Everyone wants to purchase this New Testament. The photos are profound and the mazagine-like quality makes it easy to transport. Cannot wait for the Old Testament and have already given friends a head-s up.

Amazing

I have been blessed in my life to be able to read the Bible several times over in several different translations and you know what? It's a great book. If you haven't read it you should give it a try! There is a reason it is the most popular book in the world you know :) This month I was given the amazing opportunity to preview a new Bible version- Bible Illuminated. Honestly I think it is easily the most incredible version I have EVER seen. The photos are incredible- just looking at them gave me VERY strong emotions and then to have them paired with the Word of God was just intense. It truly had me captivated. The Bible Illuminated would make an excellent Christmas gift too.
