After earning his Bachelor's degree at Pennsylvania State University and his Master's in English at the University of Arkansas, he taught English, literature, philosophy, and creative and technical writing. He has published work in various literary journals and magazines, including the North American Review, The Spoon River Poetry Review, TAMAQUA, The Ledge, Alligator Juniper, and The White House Coffee Press.
