A Decent First Effort

R. McGhee is a young author, only 15 at the time of this book's publication. His talent and ambition ought to be applauded for accomplishing a novel at such an age. Beyond the Mist is a solid initial effort, and shows much promise. Simple, clean writing, by a young author for other children. Adults may find it simplistic or a bit shallow, but they are not the intended audience. All in all, Beyond the Mist makes a great book for the airplane, a trip to the beach, or even a rainy Saturday. If your children are interested in fantasy books, this one, written by another kid, is sure to please.
