Remember that one year when your life began to change and your possibilities began to expand. The year is 1963 and a young boy's life will soon turn in ways he's never imagined. Bobby Lynn is about to travel through a year that will include both old and new friends, enemies known and discovered, pretty girls, and a family that surprises more than disappoints. Bobby is only twelve years old as the story begins and is stuck believing he will always live in the shadow of life. In fact it is only watching the movies at the Majestic Theater that has ever offered any hope of large adventures and new places. Bobby Alvin Lynn will begin to learn what it is like to stand on his own, stand up for himself, and be a loyal defender of others. From January through December of 1963, a young boy takes his first steps to becoming someone who will be remembered in a memorable time.This story takes place in rural East Tennessee throughout the year 1963. It is a pivotal year in Bobby's life, but it is also becoming a year of changes in social acceptance and racial divides that affect a community and a nation. It is a reminder of how a Country was affected by the loss of it's leader. This story hopes to remind us of another time and the simpler ways in which life was lived. It is a reminder of the value of family, the closeness of good friends, and the discovery of new experiences and people. I hope it will cause us all to remember when we first began to travel beyond our own Majestic.
