Beyond Reach

Karin Slaughter books are always good read.

Best Crime Novelist Alive Today!!!

I happen to have stumbled onto Karin Slaughter and the Grant County series a few years ago...at that point I had read very many books but since I found this series I have read every book by Karin that she has personally written...The whole Grant County Series and The Will Trent Books...I though the way 'Beyond Reach' ended was tragic and surprising...I did not see it coming at all...within the final page or two my mouth was dropped in amazement as to what events transpired. I fully recommend reading the entire series in order from the first book in the series until 'Beyond Reach' to get an understanding of the main characters before passing judgement on how this book ended...I am waiting patiently on 'Undone' Due out in July in the United States...Keep up the terrific work Karin!!!

Book came in timely manner and was good as new condition. It ended in a cliffhanger and cant wait to read the next one in the series.

Small town corruption

The small town in question is Reece, in Georgia, where Police Detective Lena Adams, working partner of Heartsdale Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver, now lives after a traumatic childhood in Reece. She reluctantly returns to Reece when she learns that her Uncle Hank who raised both her and her twin sister after the death of their mother, is in a very bad way from drug usage. He was a recovering drug user for many years but appears to have succumbed to temptation once again. Other business brings Chief Tolliver and his doctor wife, Sara Linton to Reece, where they are concerned that there is no trace of Lena. What follows is a frightening example of a small town closing ranks against them and their questions and a terrifying episode of extreme violence, murder, torture and corruption by drug dealers who control the whole town and its' occupants.

Escaping the past

Combine tight plotting with vivid forensic detail and heart-stopping suspense, and brace yourself for a roller-coaster ride. This is no simple case of murder and it looks like Detective Lena Adams is the only suspect. But what is really going on in Reece? Lena's boss, Jeffrey Tolliver police chief of Heartsdale and his wife Dr Sara Linton, travel to Reece to try to aid Lena. To write more about the story might spoil reading the novel itself. There are plenty of twists and turns, lots of bad guys and from underneath it all some of the mysteries of Lena's past emerge. Fans of Ms Slaughter's earlier novels will be familiar with these characters and while reading the earlier books isn't necessary it will add an extra dimension of understanding and appreciation of the plot. Wow!! A Teriffic Read

Beyond Reach - Karin Slaughter Wow! Beyond Reach has it all, including forensic detail, "gang" activity, corrupt law enforcement, and more. Fast moving and a real page turner made it difficult to put down. I especially liked the way Ms. Slaughter introduced the characters and moved you through one day at a time. Sarah Linton, medical examiner/pediatrician who is married to Police Chief Jeffery Tolliver suddenly finds herself caught up in a police investigation involving Jeff's partner, Detective Lena Adams. This scenario quickly leads you into a tangled web of betrayal and complicated happenings. Beyond Reach will definitely go on my keeper list and will be recommended as a must read to my fellow readers.
