EYE-OPENING

Well-thought out and provides practical information. I only wish I had read it years before! It will be a great reference for me and my daughters for years to come. Worth the time to ponder and the thoughts it provokes. Insightful! Thanks for such a great book, as we all need this!

Knowledge is Power

As a psychotherapist in private practice I find self help books to be like the girl with the curl; when they are good they are very good, but when they are bad they are awful. Jana Cole Bertrand's book, Beware the Red Flag Man, falls in the very good category. As a matter of fact, very, very good. Jana Bertrand is specific, thorough and articulate as she lays out the characteristics of the Red Flag Man. Her illustrations illumnate her description of the Red Flag Man and show these characteristics in action. Jana describes equally as well the consequences of the victimization process that happens with The Red Flag Man and its reverberating effects. Beware the Red Flag Man is an empowering book for women of all ages to read, whether reading to learn how to avoid the Red Flag Man or to recognize the trap one is already in. Thank you Jana Bertrand for a book that describes what women need to know in order to make informed choices and take better care of themselves. Jane Pendergraft, LCSW

What every woman should know.

After reading this profound book, I realized my life might be totally different if I had read this book in high school and especially in college. The author gives insight on identifying, recognizing, and dealing with a red flag man. Her easy to read chapters and real life experiences of various women, make it a most interesting book. I would recommend it be a 'must read' for all high school girls. If we would all take the author's practical suggestions, the whole world would be a more loving and peaceful place.

Beware The Red Flag Man

This book is a must. It is well written and reads easily. It is very specific in describing "The Red Flag Man". As you read the book it becomes clear, very quickly, how to identify this type of person. The checklist at the end of the book is most helpful. I think the author, Jana, has written a prize winner. She will be helping millions of people out there that are about to enter a bad relationship or are already in one. My hat goes off to you, Jana Cole Betrand.

A must read for teenage/20 something girls & their parents!

This is a great book! Well written, but easy to read. Every page contains straight forward advice on how to avoid one of life's biggest pitfalls; a life-partner that will cause untold misery. While the book tells real life stories about the tragic choices some women make, the focus is on the girl reading it. Reinforcing her intuition, empowering her to resist charm and look for substance, and innoculating her from jumping onto the societal bandwagon that claims that women are not whole alone. I've always been uncomfortable with the line from the movie Jerry Maguire; "You complete me." Both women and men would be a lot happier in their relationships if they came into it as whole, functional people. Ms. Bertand's book points out the folly of this sentiment as well, encouraging young women to live full and vibrant lives whether or not they ever find Mr. Right. As strong, beautiful women we should be looking for men that value us (as we are prepared to value them) and we should not settle for anything less. Marriage is only truly successful as a true partnership. As a psychologist that works with children and teens I bought 2 of this book, one to keep and one to lend. Thanks for sharing you wisdom!
