The dinosaur world her parents had been marooned on since before she was even born was the only one Kat ever knew.
Then it seems they are finally rescued when a multiverse ship, commanded by Captain Boston, appears. The captain allows a few people aboard while promising another ship will soon return for the rest of the castaways.
However, the ship's tampered drive dumps them into a different unknown universe, and they are lost. Was it sabotage or espionage? One of the castaways or one of his crew? Captain Boston has questions but no answers.
The captain quickly discovers Kat is a stowaway on his ship. She is not a kid but not an adult yet either. Was she somehow responsible? The captain does not trust her, but their very survival may depend upon her.
None of that will matter though if they can't find their way back. They are left with no choice but to go universe hopping. However, entering the wrong universe could be deadly.
