She adds a section that reveals the grounding power of nature in her life, then a section of reflections on her experiences followed by a gesture at aging. Poetry has been part of Taru Ruth Rivera's life over a span of fifty years--both reading it and writing it. She began as Ruth Anne Robinson, then Robbie Robinson, Ruthana Robinson, Ruth Robinson Rivera and finally Taru Ruth Rivera. The play with names mirrors her pathway of change. The arrival at publication is part of a new beginning and a willingness to be seen.
