Four Astronauts - Peter, Abby, Hugh, and Jen - are on an eight-month mission to investigate a puzzling anomaly that unmanned probes have been unable to scan effectively.

The story begins in the wake of Jen's death, just days before the ship reaches the anomaly. Ship's engineer, Peter, blames himself and amidst the grief, guilt and cabin-fever, he also realises he's falling in love with Abby.

Ground Control wants to abort the mission. But if they turn back now, Jen died for nothing. Peter thinks he's starting to crack under the pressure, and things only get worse when Jen starts to speak to him from beyond the grave...
