Alison James does a really great job of summarizing very sound, practical advice about the do's and don'ts of relationships. Highly recommended!!

What's not to love about such a clever book?

Oh my gosh I seriously needed this book. I think it is essential reading. I've read several books in this genre but the thing I love about this one is that it is very real. It doesn't sound like a text book and it will crack you up. It's clever. The author has a great sense of humor about many of the things that stress me out about dating. You can tell the people who contributed to this book have been there and that is priceless knowledge.

Thanks to this author, I laughed out loud and dumped my jerk!

I saw this author on Fox Dayside and she seemed smart. She made very good points so I went out and bought her book. It is very funny and it has helped me enormously. I've been dating a man for two years who seemed great at the beginning but it went downhill from there. At first I thought my feelings and doubts were normal but some of the things in this book have helped me realize that I should trust my reservations and get out. I'm not looking back. Never settle girls!

Better Off Wed

Ok...so the title was funny enough, right? Wait until you read the book!! This lady obviously has a wicked sense of humor to match her wicked thoughts about how to gauge whether or not he is the man of your dreams or the man of your nightmares. Some very sound advice for the lovelorn and those who are unconvinced that their partner is their soulmate - James must have a ton of experience in that department to have penned this one! Get one for each of your girlfriends!

Fling or Ring: Resolved at last!

So ask yourself, if your major issues with your guy are never resolved- for the rest of your life- are you okay with that? Fling or Ring asks poignant questions, like the above, to help the reader sort out the answers. Every relationship is different and there is no recipe for success. Ms. James realizes that and has created a solution in the form of a book that offers up examples, objectively points out potential warning signs, and suggests what might be big problems and what might constitute smaller ones. Occasionally falling into teaching mode, James explains the difference between constructive and destructive fighting and helps the reader identify what type of arguments are taking place in her current relationship. Fling or Ring will help the reader to see the less than perfect parts in her relationship.
