This is an awesome and informative book!

I have had this book for many years! It has helped me with both ground and container gardening. Currently we don't have a veggie garden in the ground or in containers. Believe me we are missing out big time. We just have shrubs in our flower bed and a few other foliage outside plants. I can not wait until we can plant another veggie garden and other plants that we had in the past. Our children are begging for a garden as they remember what we had in the past. We did not have anyone to teach us how to garden. I just reflected on my childhood memories of my grandparents (the ones that knew about gardening) garden and wished they were still here to help. But since they are not better homes and gardens new garden book has help us out so much that we can not tell you what we would do with out this book... we had to teach ourselves and this book is a great companion to teach you.... It has so much information. I can not wait until we can place a garden in the ground again. It is so much fun, healthy, and rewarding. Our children love to help. It is so nice to see the work of your own hands. Well if you don't have this one you are missing out. This is the garden book that I refer to.... Happy gardening!

Great Book for Beginners

This is a great book for beginners. If you want to start a garden and are looking for a single good source of reference, then this is that book. I got tired of refering to 100's of books and not feeling satisfied about any of them. This book is a real source of joy and one also knows what to expect when starting a garden. Worth every cent of money that it costs. Must buy.

A basic yet comprehensive gardening book

This book covers a lot of ground (no pun intended!) in its pages--everything from lawns and landscaping to container gardening and houseplants. Numerous photographs and diagrams illustrate the book, and it has a nice section where common perennials and annuals are pictured. If you want a good basic reference on all kinds of gardening, this one is a super start. I come back to it even as I've added more specialized books to my gardening library.
