My five year old was the high spirited one, and at age nine, he still melts down. This book is the only thing that helps him when he is freaking out. I hope many children can be calmed by it also. This is not a complex story. It is a tool of gradually reaching for relief, and the best feeling possible. We do not read this book during a casual story time. We grab this book during during emergency tantrums, and cling to it's wisdom. I feel it would help special needs children, and those who have endured trauma. Most children can read this book independently without an adult, by age seven. Best Worst Day, is inspired by the teachings of Abraham, thru Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks.
