Love this series

Jimmie Ruth Evans is a great storyteller. He creates characters you get to know and love. I am collecting all his books and even though they are older, they are better than some of the newer authors.

LOVE THIS SERIES!

Great book and a great series as well....love the characters, down home humor and the situations.....these people could be a friend or neighbor ..... or even a relative! Keep 'em coming!

"An ounce of blood is worth more than a pound of friendship" (Spanish Proverb)

This third installment in the series finds single mom Wanda Nell Culpepper struggling to cope with a multitude of family issues: Her oldest daughter, Miranda, doesn't seem willing or capable of taking care of herself and her little boy; Wanda Nell's son, TJ, is happily settled in a relationship but not everyone in Tullahoma looks kindly on the arrangement and to top it all off her brother, Rusty, shows up out of the blue. Wanda Nell hasn't seen or spoken to Rusty in years and it doesn't look like he's come home to mend any fences. When two of Rusty's former high school buddies are found dead it appears to be too much of a coincidence to Wanda Nell ... and to the authorities. Unable to turn her back on her only brother Wanda Nell sets out to discover what Rusty is hiding and in the course of her investigation uncovers some truly ugly and dangerous secrets from the past. As with the previous books I enjoyed the small town setting and catching up with Wanda Nell and the rest of the gang. The "mystery" was pretty engaging but wrapped up in a rather unsatisfying "suspect round-up" reminiscent of an old-fashioned English country-house mystery. Don't let that deter you though; this book is worth reading for the endearing characters and southern atmosphere alone. If you are new to the series you are on to a good thing but I would highly recommend that you start with the first in the series "Flamingo Fatale" - that one gives you Wanda Nell's backstory and each book picks up where the other left off.

Keeps Getting Better

I love this series. The writing is good and the characters are well-formed and interesting. This story was very mature and well crafted. A very sophisticated cozy. Only the cover gives it the cozy feel. More, More, More.

Reality series

Just like a slice of America Pie. I think this book represents most of America in a rural setting. Love it really.

cooking up another great cozy

this is another and the further adventures in a cute cozy series. Funny and believeable characters throught the whole story keeps your attention and it is fun just to visit them. I look foward to more of the Tullahoma gang. the scary thing is, i could know these people!
