My father-in-law picked this book up at Costco. We keep it in our glove box for spontaneous adventures with the kids (I have a 10 and 12 year old). We've hiked several trails using the book as our guide. There are some wonderful hikes we would have missed out on had we not had the book. The book lists the length and difficulty of the trail as well as the view and setting along the way (It's nice to know ahead of time if the hike is worth the effort). With a detailed description of hiking trails all over Oregon, this book would benefit even those without children; it's a great guide for young and old alike!
