Best Friends Become Strangers is a book about the life of Maxx McClain; the author. Throughout life, we will create strong bonds with people. We will have a tight group of friends in elementary school, middle school, high school, college and in the workplace, but as you move from one realm to the next, we lose friendships along the way. Before anyone reads the book, I would like them to think about high school, and that group of friends that they believed would be friends forever. Do they know where those friends are today? Have they been in contact with those friends recently? Within the past year? Past 5 years? Past 10 years? Have they created a new group of friends? That is just high school. I did not include elementary school, middle school, or college. Everyone has experienced how are best friends have become strangers. Not through any deliberate intentions, but how life moves us all apart. The more years, the more miles, the more responsibilities, the less contact we have with those friends. Soon, we have very little, to no contact at all. When you are in the "moment," experiencing the laughs, joys, pains, sharing and bonding with those high school teammates and best friends forever, we fail to believe these friendships will not last forever.
