This book contains eight short stories, most of which were published in Munsey's magazine about 100 years ago, some of which have been reprinted many times in many different collections. What makes this book worth buying are two things: (1) Zane Grey; (2) The Camp Robber. Without question Zane Grey is still the foremost writer of the American West, despite critics or the passage of time. The story, The Camp Robber, is indeed a rare item, only found in a Walter J. Black edition, and a Belmont Tower paperback from 40 years ago. For the Zane Grey collector, this is a must have book. Another included story is Monty Price's Nightingale, the subject of a new printing recently available on its own as Monty Price's Nightmare--great story of the cowboy everyone comes to love in the novel, The Light of Western Stars. I enjoyed all of the stories, and this is an eclectic selection, ranging from the American West to the jungles of Mexico--another area Zane Grey explored and fished at the beginning of his career. Great book. My copy is a 1977 reprint by AEONIAN Press.
