miles away

Mr. De Luna and I were raised only a few miles apart yet our early lives are many miles distant. His observations touch the earth and any reasonable person who has a heart can see this. I await his next visions to ruminate upon this wonderment of life. Kudos to Mr. De Luna.

San Joaquin Valley poetry

This author has had dramatic experiences as a farm laborer. He communicates them extremely well in parts one and two of his book. Part three is about a Godless life and a tough marriage. I didn't enjoy this last section.

quiet but deeply moving

Easily one of the most tender and gutwrenchingly sad books of poetry I have ever read. This is the real deal. Each poem is carefully crafted, never dipping into sentimentality--you will feel haunted (in a good way!) after reading this!

A deeply felt and deeply moving collection of poems

BMD's Bent to the Earth mines memory, geography, and loss in a way I've never quite experienced before. This young poet feels things deeper than deep and hardens them in the forge of the language of the everyday. I especially liked "Windows Reflecting Other Windows" and "Perhaps the Wind, Perhaps Memory." This is the real.
