My brother and I adored this book when we were little.

I think my brother could recite this book in its entirety from the age of about 4. We were fascinated by a children's book in which good behavior was its own punishment. It will remind you of the Saki story in which a man tells some children a story about a little girl who was so good that she got a lot of medals, which attracted the attention of some pigs, and they ate her up. For bright children and their bright parents.
