Ben is a curious five-year-old who loves exploring his big backyard. One day, while watching birds, chipmunks, and the trees at the edge of the yard, Ben notices the dark forest behind his house. It looks spooky, and his imagination fills it with scary animals hiding in the shadows.

When Ben hears his cat Blackie crying somewhere in the forest, he gathers his courage and slowly walks toward the trees to find her. With his mom close by, Ben discovers that the spooky forest isn't as scary as he thought.
