The "Beloved Monsters" is an emotional story of betrayal and redemption of a young boy living in the chaotic years following the revolution in Iran. The story starts in the middle of his adolescence which is filled with dark days of chaos and unimaginable events. This happens during and after the Islamic revolution in Iran which results in a hostile takeover of the entire country by the fundamentalists. While the main character fights his own eternal demons within, the chilling events happening in his country only adds fuel to his everlasting agony. Like many of his countrymen, he is subjected to torture, imprisonment and subsequent persecution in the entire time he is living in Iran with his family after the revolution. His grand wish is simply living a modest life of freedom and peace, going to school and becoming an engineer. His fights his own demons and the oppressive evil government subjects to achieve that very goal.
