Incredible and Moving

Some of the most haunting and penetrating fiction I have read. Beautifully crafted and well written stories. In the course of every story you may smile or weep. As good as Maristed's first novel "Out After Dark," also a must read.

A truly penetrating, insightful book

This is among the best fiction I've read this year. These stories have not so much to do with horses and life on the circuit as they do with people's responses to life and life's peculiar quirks. The characters haunted me long after I finished the book.
