Sir Hunk and the Holy Grail

English professor Tessa St. James is sick of Camelot and the so-called myths that she assumes is hooey bunk. When some claiming that he is Merlin Wizard Extraordinaire and Counselor to Kings meets her, she scorns him as another fake, Taken aback by the professor's disdain and not one to accept disrespect from royals, Merlin decides to teach the show me skeptic a lesson in respect and humility. He takes Tessa back to the English Dark Ages of Camelot. She is stunned, but though she begins to believe what she sees, Tessa has doubts. He orders Sir Galahad to take her along on his quest to bring back the Holy Grail. However, "Sir Hunk" respectfully says no as a woman does not belong on such a dangerous mission. However King Arthur and Merlin tell him Tessa will accompany him. As they follow a poorly designed map and struggle to interpret a riddle, she proves his equal in battle with dragons, witches and other foes, oh! My! This is an amusing refreshing romantic twist to the legend of Sir Hunk and the Holy Grail that Monty Python would enjoy. The storyline is filled with humor especially tongue in cheek from Merlin and the differences in how a chivalrous knight treats a lady who acts anything like any female he ever met; sex and dragons go together. Fans of Camelot will appreciate this spin as Galahad learns new uses for round tables and the truth about the Holy Grail in this superb romantic fantasy. Harriet Klausner

Fantastic - This book could not have been better

I absolutely loved this book. I had to stay up half the night finishing it. The stroy just flowed from one chapter to the next. In fact, I hardly noticed that it was 1:30 a.m. when I finished it. Tessa is such a strong female character and sure gives Galahad a run for his money about his Middle Ages beliefs. You could not ask for a better book to curl up with in front of the fire on a cold winter or rainy night. A truely wonderful book. A must read!

I LOVE it!

King Arthur and the knights of the round table legend is my favorite of all and Tristan my favorite knight! My cats are name Tristan & galahad, so much I love this stuff. The book is a must keep, you will laugh with the antics that these characters will go thru, and the HEAT between Tessa and Tristan is to die for.Is the best I have read in a LOOONG time!

Witty dialogue, wonderful characters, fantastic storytelling

I had never read a book from Victoria Alexander before, but after this one, I will definately be heading to my local library to find more! Her writing style is one that I've always enjoyed from some of my favorite authors, mainly because the heroine has a razor-sharp intelligence. The witty dialogue between Tessa and all the characters in the book were laugh-out loud funny, and I especially loved her affectionate "pet name" for Galahad -- Big Guy. Being only 5'3" myself, I really love tall guys, and Sir Galahad, like he was supposed to, stole my heart. If you love the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, along with the "Wizard Extraordinaire and Counselor to Kings" Merlin, then this is the book for you.

An intriguing new look at King Authur's court

I love time travels and Victoria's new one was a fun trip back to the Camelot of legends. Her slant on the 'real' stories and people were interesting. Her heroine Tessa St.James is irreverent and self-assured except in love, Galahad is honorable and confident and knows in his heart that he has already had his chance at love. Together, their search for the infamous and elusive Holy Grail shows them both the power and magic of love! I really enjoyed this quick-paced, emotional love story in which two halves become whole again.
