In June 2026, Brest hosted the Economic Forum and Workshop "Belarus-Central Asia: Paths to Cooperation," which served as a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing practical issues of trade and economic cooperation, and finding solutions to successfully promote Belarusian exports to the Central Asian region. Against the backdrop of a changing global economy, the global restructuring of technological and logistical supply chains, the importance of Belarus's cooperation with the countries of Central Asia-which are demonstrating dynamic economic growth-is increasingly on the rise, creating new opportunities for domestic exports and market diversification. Currently, given the rapid growth of the region's economies-which have a combined population of more than 80 million-key priorities for Belarus include increasing trade volumes with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, as well as increasing domestic exports in the fields of mechanical engineering, processed agricultural products, veterinary and pharmaceutical products, construction materials, furniture, and lumber. How are these objectives being met today? This study provides an overview.
