Robert Goldbach and his twin brother Richard entered Webb's class of 18, which was smaller than normal for Webb, as was their 1958 graduating class of 13, which included two additional twins, both fraternal, whose sisters pursued their education elsewhere.
Desiring only an excellent engineering education when they arrived, they fell in love with ships while at Webb and pursued parallel but different gratifying careers leading to chief executive positions in the marine field. Richard with repair and construction shipyards, and Robert in ship design, construction, operation, and trading with ship-owning companies.
"Rob" has great interest in Webb remaining a valued American asset into the future. He intends this entertaining and easily read book to be true or close to true and apologizes for minor memory lapses. His views on Webb's future appear in the end chapter "Aft Word."
