The Behemoth series is about a high school football player who is injured seriously during a game, and during his rehab at the local hospital, meets a young cancer patient whom he befriends. In trying to save the boy's life, he inadvertently is exposed to his chemo drugs and the boy's cancer-ridden blood cells, altering his DNA. He then becomes a sort of genetic freak, an evolutionary anomaly, capable of incredible physical feats. However, doctors find that he has all the symptoms and signs of terminal cancer, but through a blood transfusion from the same little boy he helped save, he overcomes the illness. He goes on to become the greatest player in the history of college and pro football, helping as many people as he can along the way, and after he marries his high school sweetheart, he fathers a child that is absolutely monstrous in size, with the same genetic makeup he has, but magnified exponentially. He will be the subject of the 2nd and all subsequent books in the series (two of which are already completed), and he is the true Behemoth referred to in the title.
