Inside of this book are the feelings felt, words spoken, and thoughts that were once unable to be expressed without being written down on paper, as I have ventured through the stages of grief. Through heartbreak, finding myself, and realizing what comes along with simply living life, it is all unraveled; all that lies behind the walls of a beautiful mind. Wildflowers. They bloom from the cracks in the sidewalks that I would avoid at all costs as a game to play when I was a kid. They choose a spot out of the entire earth to grow, and they're stuck there for their whole lives. Somehow, they still look so pretty. They get stepped on occasionally, and get mistaken for weeds that they're not. But they still look so pretty. They only last for so long until their tiny leaves and skinny stems begin to crumble under the weight of the world, and it seems that nature has turned against them. The wind knocks them over, and pulls them up from the ground as they use all of their strength to grip to the dirt beneath them. The dirt. The only thing that ever holds them up. The only security that they ever receive besides the roots that they've built for themselves. The thing that made them stronger without the help of sunlight. No one thinks to water them, no one notices when they droop. But still, they look so pretty. Wildflowers. Not planted. Never taught how to grow. Instead created with the strength to grow themselves. Imagine how much prettier the sidewalks would be, if we could all just be the same. -From Behind The Walls Of A Beautiful Mind
