I really enjoyed this book - many different perspectives, all true.

I'm not going to write a long drawn out review but I have just about completed this book after purchasing it a week ago and it has really given me a lot to think about. There are a lot of new ideas and real life examples for people to pray and ponder about in this book. It was a VERY refreshing read. There are even examples about better ways to raise your kids in the Gospel that make for a more fun household environment for your family. It cites a lot on the downfall of marriage in today's society and how there is ZERO evidence to support the notion that when people get a divorce, they will find happiness elsewhere. I mean there are always those extreme circumstances where divorce is warranted, but the studies show that a very high percentage of people who get divorced, when asked later in life if they regret their decision said YES, they did regret it and many went on to end up in worse relationships than they were in to begin with. Just about all marital problems can be resolved if a couple can simply join hands, kneel together, and prayerfully plead for help and the healing power of the Atonement. Their humble and united pleadings will bring them closer to the Lord and to each other. Hard work in a relationship has an incredibly wonderful payoff. My ultimate goal is to be able to spend eternity with my eternal companion. It's something that must be earned. It isn't something handed to you on a silver platter. I hope this review helps! THE BEST BOOK ON RELATIONSHIPS I'VE EVER READ

Behind the Smiling Faces is by far the best marriage/divorce book I've ever read. Many experts are interviewed about marriage and divorce, and their insights are important and sometimes surprising. But my favorite part of the book is the stories of real people, told in their own words. This book would make a great gift for any adult, whether preparing for marriage, happily married, or considering divorce. THIS BOOK COULD SAVE A MARRIAGE!
