Behind the smile is a journey through my early childhood memories to adulthood as I share a series of unfortunate events which led to a life of brokenness and despair. Through the many real-life stories told, you will be able to see how choices made out of a broken place only lead to more brokenness, but you will also see the power of forgiveness and love as the keys to being made whole. I was lost and never thought I could ever find myself again but here I am a testimony of God's love, grace and mercy. Behind the smile is a book about hope and purpose. It focuses on domestic violence, suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, negative thought patterns and how I overcame what was meant to destroy me. God has changed my life. I never thought in a million years I would be where I am today but God has certainly used my experiences to shape the strong woman I am now. I had to surrender my life to Christ in order for Him to be at the centre of it and make me whole again. This book is a testimony to encourage others that though we go through the fire we come out refined in our purpose.
