Behind the Seventh Bell

By Lucy Hernandez

To the students and teachers at Oakridge Middle School, Macy Ward is just another shy transfer student trying to survive eighth grade.

In reality, she is thirty-one-year-old Martha Taylor.

Armed with forged records and a cunning persona, Martha easily slips into the classroom undetected. Her goal is far more sinister than blending in: she has set her predatory sights on Albert, an isolated fourteen-year-old vulnerable to her manipulations.

When astute guidance counselor Margaret Martin spots cracks in Macy's forged paperwork, she teams up with juvenile division detective Walter Anderson, who is already investigating a string of stolen state identity packets. As they piece together the horrifying truth, Martha realizes the net is tightening around her.

Desperate to maintain control, Martha accelerates her twisted plans, turning an everyday school into a high-stakes hunting ground.

Behind the Seventh Bell is an electrifying, pulse-pounding psychological thriller that exposes the darkness lurking in plain sight.
