Behind my smile was originally supposed to be my autobiography. As I began writing Behind My Smile as an autobiography, a lot of the stuff I was writing inspired me to write poetry. My second idea was to do half autobiography and half poems. As I thought long and hard on what to do, it became very clear to me. If I share my poetry, I will also be sharing my life and who I am. Just sharing my poetry for now seemed like the best idea. I hope my poems touch people's hearts.
