An Unexpected 5 Stars

We have acquired a number of children's books about the Bible, and our older children generally gravitated toward other books, usually ones with more exotic drawings and fancier packaging. However, our youngest child pulled out this book one day and it hasn't gone back since. The stories are child-friendly, and do a good job of simplifying the language to make it accessible to a pre-schooler. The illustrations are simple, and not particuarly inspiring as artwork to this adult, but do a good job of actually illustrating the story and sparking questions and discussions from our pre-schooler. And there is enough detail kept in the stories to allow for re-reading many times. I echo another reviewer's complaint about the quality of the packaging; at the same time, I'm ready to ignore that given just how much this book has engaged our child. This is a simple and unpretentious book that has been wonderful to have.
