Before I Go...: Poems and Flash Fiction

It doesn't take long to fall under the spell of the city. I speak from experience of course. Having lived out in the burbs for the most part, I moved to the city several years ago and my transition into a mountain minion was smooth and barely noticeable. Before I knew it, I was finding I never needed to leave the city. Going anywhere else "takes too long." You see, once you live here, if you can't get somewhere within 10 minutes, then it is simply too far to go. Burbs folk don't have that problem, they're free, and they haven't been caught.

Katherine writes from her home in Cape Town, a laid-back, relaxed city where she has grown comfortably trapped by the spell of the beautiful Table Mountain, wild ocean air, and addictive coffee shops. As she prepares to leave the city and start a new journey, Katherine puts her favourite pieces of poems and flash fiction written in the local coffee shops together with some of her illustrations, a way of closing the book on one chapter before starting the next.
