Since first appearing on the market in China in 2003, electronic cigarettes, or vape, have become very popular with those seeking to quit or reduce their tobacco consumption. The safety of its use and its effectiveness in smoking cessation are hotly debated. Given its nicotine content, vape also has an addictive potential. The aim of this study was to compare the addictive power of e-cigarettes with that of conventional cigarettes in vapoteurs who had previously smoked conventional cigarettes.
